Any type of accusations or negligence can be defended, as long as there is a skilled nurse attorney ready to assist you during the hearing before the Board of Nursing. The Texas Board of Nursing has full jurisdiction regarding cases that may affect an RN or LVN’s license from suspension, disciplinary action or revocation.
Accusations regarding false documentation are a must to be observed properly not only by the Board but by a nurse attorney. An example of this happened to an LVN in Lubbock wherein several accusations of false documentation are filed against her.
According to the accusations, on or about January 19, 2017, the LVN allegedly falsely documented blood pressure readings in the medical records of five (5) pediatric patients when she had not actually taken their blood pressure. Her conduct created an inaccurate medical record in which subsequent caregivers would rely on to provide ongoing medical care.
In response to the incident, the LVN states she takes full responsibility for what she did and admitted this to her employers knowing she would be terminated. She states this was an isolated event and likely resulted from a combination of her high-risk pregnancy and quota-driven pressures.
However, without the valid evidence and defense to properly explain her side, the LVN was disciplined and suspended by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Because of this incident, the Texas Board of Nursing then subjected the LVN and her license into disciplinary action.
The accusation would have been defended by an experienced and skilled nurse attorney, had the LVN hired one. Hiring a nurse attorney for defense is applicable for any kind of accusation laid against an RN or LVN.
