It’s best to seek the help of a nurse attorney when facing different complaints and allegations. However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.

At the time of the incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital facility in Texarkana, Texas, and had been in that position for two (2) years and one (1) month.

On or about March 2, 2015, while employed as a Registered Nurse at the medical facility in The Woodlands, Texas, the RN withdrew one (l) vial of Hydromorphone 2mg/1mL from the Medication Dispensing System of a patient, but failed to document, or completely and accurately document, the administration of the medication in the patients’ Medication Administration Record (MAR). The RN’s conduct was likely to injure the patient, in that subsequent caregivers would rely on his documentation to further medicate the patient, which could result in an overdose. Additionally, the RN’s conduct placed the hospital in violation of Chapter 481 (Controlled Substances Act) of the Texas Health and Safety Code.

On or about March 2, 2015, March 3, 2015, and March 7, 2015, while employed as a Registered Nurse, the RN withdrew two (2) vials of Hydromorphone 2mg/1mL, one (1) vial of Hydralazine 20mg/1mL, for patients from the Medication Dispensing System, but failed to follow the facility’s policy and procedure for wastage of the unused portions of the medications. The RN’s conduct left medications unaccounted for, was likely to deceive the hospital pharmacy, and placed the pharmacy in violation of Chapter 481 (Controlled Substances Act) of the Texas Health and Safety Code.

The following incident and defense against the case caused the Texas Board of Nursing to place the RN and her license into disciplinary proceedings. She would have sought assistance from a good nurse attorney to provide clarifications for the case.
