This is what happened to a certain LVN in Austin, Texas on June 2, 2016, when she practiced as a Vocational Nurse without a valid license. Board records indicate that her license expired on May 31, 2016. Her conduct deceived residents, their families, fellow caregivers, and the public in that they believed the LVN’s nursing practice was in compliance with all Board Rules and Regulations

Because of this, the LVN was summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing. During the trial, the LVN stated she was unaware she had to renew on her birthday in order to begin the 2-year renewal process. She never realized she was working on an expired license but once she did she drove to BON to inquire on how to renew it.

Because of this, the RN has been disciplined and suspended by the Texas Board of Nursing,
