Whenever someone filed a complaint against you involving negligence at work, your license could be put in danger if not defended by a nurse attorney. An RN from Vidor, Texas is just one of the many examples of nurses who found to be negligent while on duty.

On or about January 6, 2018, an RN from Vidor administered three (3) injections of intramuscular (IM) Geodon, an antipsychotic medication, to a patient, without a physician’s order. She also failed to document the administration of intramuscular (IM) medication in the medical record of the patient.

Her conduct unnecessarily exposed the patient to the risk of harm from the administration of an antipsychotic medication without a physician’s orders. Her conduct also resulted in an incomplete medical record and was likely to injure the patient in that subsequent caregivers would not have accurate and complete information on which to base their care decisions.

Because of this, the RN was summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing to defend her side.  However, she failed to hire a nurse attorney to help her with her case. Because of this, the Texas Board of Nursing suspended and disciplined the RN.

Do not fret if you find yourself in a similar situation the same as that of the RN mentioned above. All you need to do is to find the right nurse attorney who can help you in the case.
