Accusations are stressful issues for an RN or LVN, except when Fort Worth nurse lawyers assist you against the case. The Texas Board of Nursing is responsible for all hearings against RNs and LVNs undergoing a case that may revoke, suspend or only discipline their license. Take note that nurse attorneys can also defend a nurse’s license against accusations.

On or about April 26, 2019, while employed as a Registered Nurse in a medical facility in Fort Worth, the RN allegedly failed to verify home medications, and also failed to document physician medication orders in the medical record for hospice patient during admission to a skilled nursing facility. Instead, the RN inaccurately documented a physician order to continue home medications and instructed clinical staff at the facility to administer the medications as per the labels on the bottles.

Subsequently, the patient received excess dosages of Lorazepam, a previously scheduled medication that was re-ordered for administration only as needed. Her conduct created an incomplete medical record and was likely to injure the patient in that the administration of medication in excess frequency and/or dosage of physician orders could result in the patient suffering from adverse reactions.

During the hearing, the RN states she had a heavy patient load due to a staffing shortage. The RN also states she had not received any report on the patient and states she could not review chart notes as the facility had recently switched to a new documentation system. The RN further states upon arrival at the facility the patient’s medication bottles were not made available to her so she entered the order to continue the home medications as per written instructions on the labels.

However, without the proper help from Fort Worth nurse lawyers, the RN lost the case and she was disciplined and suspended.

The Texas Board of Nursing then subjected the RN and her license into disciplinary action. The accusation would have been defended by skilled Fort Worth nurse lawyers, had the RN hired one. Hiring Fort Worth nurse lawyers for defense is applicable for any kind of accusation laid against an RN or LVN.
